The workshop SPP-2410: Nonlocal Modelling in Fluidmechanical Applications took place at the University of Mannheim between September 2nd and September 4th, 2024.
It featured 12 invited speakers delivering lectures about the current main research directions related to non local conservation and balance laws. An expected hot topic is centered on the "non local to local limit": it is mainly of purely theoretical interest and has been fostering the development of new analytical techniques.
From the point of view of applications, talks dealt with the modeling of vehicular traffic and with that of sedimentation processes. Somewhat surprisingly, a few discussions investigated the origin of this still quite young field. A key role has been played by a dozen young PhD students and post-docs. They were invited to quickly orally present their posters. Then, the poster sessions required more time than expected both testing the answers of the young presenters and satisfying the curiosity of the interested audience.
